The mobile gaming segment has been long ruled by Tencent’s PUBG MOBILE for more than a year now and now there’s a new game that has the potential to challenge the popularity of PUBG MOBILE. Activision’s popular battle shooting franchise Call of Duty is now on mobile under the title Call of Duty Mobile. Coming from the same Tencent Games who brought PUBG MOBILE, the game brings all the classic gameplay styles and modes from the previous PC versions of the game and even challenges PUBG MOBILE on a lot of fronts.
Call of Duty Mobile has been available on all Android and iOS devices for a while in a Closed Beta program and those players who registered earlier only got the access to the game in this stage. However, the Closed Beta has now ended and the game isn’t available for playing anymore. “Thank you for playing and providing your invaluable feedback. We look forward to seeing you in future Betas, not to mention the full release,” says the COD Mobile team in an in-game notification.
Recently, the Call of Duty Mobile team expressed its interest to expand the game’s availability in public beta in many countries, including India. Therefore, with the Closed Beta ending, it seems that the developers are now prepping the public beta of the game, which could be released soon. The game’s stable version is expected to roll out later in the year.
While the release of the game is still far away, the Closed Beta already showed that the game is bringing a lot of fresh concepts to the mobile gameplay world, some of which are being copied by rivals. For example, the Deathmatch mode introduced by COD Mobile is now coming to PUBG MOBILE. The Deathmatch mode requires two teams with a limited number of players fighting out until one of the sides achieves 50 kills.
However, Call of Duty Mobile also brings PUBG MOBILE’s Battle Royale mode with a twist of its own. Players can fight it out with teams or solo as the last man standing to win the matches. Call of Duty Mobile brings the Call of Duty weapons from the PC versions and requires players to take battlecraft seriously. Additionally, to make the gameplay fun, the developers have thrown in drone attacks and zombies to give teams or players an additional chance to defend.
